Overview
This 5-day safari brings together Kenya’s two most iconic wildlife destinations — the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve, home of the Big Five and Great Migration, and Amboseli National Park, famous for massive elephant herds set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, driving through the scenic Great Rift Valley with a stop at a viewpoint for photographs of the escarpment and valley floor.
Continue to Maasai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch and check-in at your lodge or tented camp.
After a short rest, proceed for your first afternoon game drive across the vast golden plains. This is your introduction to the Mara ecosystem, with chances to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and predators such as lions and cheetahs.
Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart with packed lunch for a full-day exploration of Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Spend the day tracking the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — along with cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, and large herds of plains game.
Between July and October, the Mara becomes the stage for the Great Migration, where wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River in dramatic predator-prey encounters.
Enjoy lunch in the wild under acacia trees or near riverbanks depending on wildlife movement.
Continue afternoon game viewing before returning to your lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive as you exit Maasai Mara, capturing final wildlife sightings.
Begin your long scenic drive towards Amboseli National Park, passing through Nairobi or the Great Rift Valley depending on routing.
Arrive in Amboseli in the late afternoon or evening, check in at your lodge or tented camp, and relax after the journey.
Dinner and overnight stay at Amboseli.
After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Amboseli National Park.
The park is famous for its large elephant herds moving across open plains with Mount Kilimanjaro dominating the background. Wildlife includes elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and over 400 bird species.
Explore different habitats including swamps fed by underground mountain springs, which attract large concentrations of wildlife.
Enjoy picnic lunch inside the park or return to the lodge depending on preference.
Continue afternoon game drives until sunset before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Begin the day with an early morning sunrise game drive, the best time for photography and predator sightings.
Return to your lodge for breakfast and check-out.
Depart for Nairobi with scenic views of Maasai land and open countryside along the way.
Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, marking the end of your Maasai Mara & Amboseli safari experience.
